Philosophy of Education

Arlington Christian school adheres to the Biblical position that God has given parents the primary responsibility for the nurture and teaching of their children. Unfortunately, the complexity of today's society has made structured education in the home nearly impossible for many parents. Options for teaching our children include home-schooling public education, private school and Christian school

Public school ethics are based on a neutral understanding of values and man-centered philosophy. The teaching at Arlington Christian School is Christ-centered and based on Biblical absolutes. Only the Christian school can teach true ethics and the fundamental Christian virtues such as moral integrity, chastity, etc.

Together with the home and church, Arlington Christian School strives to fulfill the mandate of Ephesians 6:4 to "..bring [children] up in the training and instruction of the Lord. "(NIV)
Because of this underlying philosophy of the ministry of teaching children, enrollment is restricted to the children of families with at least one parent (guardian) who demonstrates the consistency of a Christ-centered commitment. Arlington Christian School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or ethnic origin.

Carefully chosen curriculum and caring teachers weave Biblical truths and absolutes throughout all subjects that are taught. Denominational differences on matters such as modes of baptism, etc., are considered neither wrong nor right and are therefore are treated equally and with respect

STRUCTURE AND ORGANIZATION

For stability and long-term continuity, A.C.S. is a board-sponsored non-denominational school. The Board of Directors elects Christians from the community for open positions. Those elected have demonstrated a Christ-centered life, are dedicated to Christian education and are willing to covenant their faithful service with this Board. The advantages of this type of organization include avoiding the extreme diversity that can be found in some parent-society schools and the denominational character of church-sponsored schools.
